Then AV woodwinds, but in my opinion they are not that expressive for jazz / rock solos, but better suited for a classical context with less virtuous playing. One of the cool things is that the Hein instruments also allow you to play legato with all the plethora of (short) articulations. For example you choose a long articulation as the base and then stack 6 different short articulations. Second: There is a notehead feature you can assign to a CC (or set to be velocity dependent): you can layer up to six articulations in this way that can be progressively triggered, via key velocity or any CC (I use an expression pedal and / or faders), what in my opinion gives you one of the most expressive performance patches out there. First: they are bone dry - perfect for that purpose. Maybe also Chris Hein Winds might be a possibility - I am currently rediscovering them and think that they work well for jazz / rock etc. I don't have the SWAM flutes unfortunately, but they seem to fit your purpose nicely.
